Meet Emma
ClarityWorks is owned and operated by Emma Thistlethwayte, a qualified and registered teacher. Emma has had experience working in many different school settings, including primary and high schools. For several years, Emma had the pleasure of working at Sydney Distance Education High School, gaining experience teaching a wide range of students from elite athletes, gifted and talented, students with varied mental health challenges, students with learning differences, and those in juvenile detention or behaviour settings.

Part of her role was to inspire and motivate her students to engage in their work, despite their potential barriers. Emma did this through individualisation of the curriculum and breaking down the syllabus and marking criterias, so her students were able to understand and apply the outcomes required in their courses. Emma has extensive experience and knowledge of the Australian Curriculum (ACARA).
In 2018, Emma moved to the Sunshine Coast and underwent the Orton-Gillingham Basic Training, and has since thoroughly enjoyed sharing her love of literacy with a wide range of students with varying needs, through ClarityWorks. Emma is commited to seeking how her students learn, and tailoring her intervention sessions to best meet the needs of each individual student. Emma provides both intervention and extension, and works with her students in her office, online and within the school setting. Emma is continually participating in professional learning activities. In 2023, Emma completed the Math-U-See MSL Maths training, and Promoting Literacy Development (PLD) training.
